Riverbend RV Park

Very nice little park on the outskirts of Sanger, CA.

Once again, we just wanted a one night getaway during a break in the winter weather. This time, we only loaded the bare essentials (ice, bloody mary mix, celery, etc.) into the fridge and hit the road for an overnight quickie. Our plan was to eat at the School House restaurant, but since I’m a dumbass and neglected to make a reservation, we ended up at the Rare Steer Steakhouse instead, which turned out to be very good. So, win-win, I guess.

Anyway, the park itself was very quiet and mostly empty, although this was the last week in January, so this might change in the height of summer. Most of the spaces backed up to a small creek which was quite pleasant, although it was far too small for kayaking or even fishing.

The owners were very nice, allowing us to leave our trailer in the park for several hours after checkout time while we went out for brunch with some friends.

The park apparently had showers and other amenities, but we didn’t use them, so I can’t comment on them.

Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable stay and recommended if you’re in the area, or need a base camp for exploring the Kings Canyon area.
