{"id":497,"date":"2026-04-26T13:17:25","date_gmt":"2026-04-26T20:17:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/openfirecamping.com\/?p=497"},"modified":"2026-04-26T13:17:25","modified_gmt":"2026-04-26T20:17:25","slug":"baked-brie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/openfirecamping.com\/?p=497","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Baked&#8221; Brie"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Not really baked, but when all you&#8217;ve got is a cast-iron skillet and a propane stove, you improvise, adapt and overcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A small wheel of Brie<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A small amount of butter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Since California is now mostly a &#8220;no fires while camping&#8221; state (which, given it&#8217;s history of wildfires, is an entirely reasonable stance), this recipe used the propane stove in our camper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I lined a small skillet with tin-foil, mostly because I didn&#8217;t want to deal with any cleanup, but you can easily skip this and use the skillet without the foil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyway&#8230; melt a small amount of butter in the skillet to stop the cheese from sticking.
