We found this place on the Harvest Host<\/a> site and have had it on our bucket list for some time now. Well we finally decided to make it happen, and boy, are we glad we did, John and Jennifer are the perfect Harvest Hosts and their place is the perfect location and they serve some amazing refreshments!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Viewing Remeadies Intoxicating Potions<\/a> website, it was clear we had not experienced true mead and we were ready, booking the night before and taking off Friday after work for Dan. The drive was a bit longer than expected but it’s a beautiful drive through the foothills just below Kings Canyon National Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon arriving John came out and guided us to park anywhere along their circular, easily accessible parking area, and come on in. This place immediately is welcoming, gardens everywhere, loads of shade trees and awnings with plenty of seating options or the hammock if you prefer. It’s clear they throw some parties here. Whenever you have a big burly dog greet you for belly rubs you know you are in a good place.<\/p>\n\n\n

Entering the tasting room we were greeted by our host Jenn, the other half of the team. She served delicious sourdough bread with olive oil and spice blend for dipping to go along with out tasting. We tried most of their meads, both of us sharing a taste of each others, every one was different but so delicious. Both John and Jenn explained the mead making process and answered all of our questions. We had wonderful conversations with each of them. It is obvious they love what they do and are passionate about teaching and learning and they make a great team. Their events page<\/a> lists Professional Mead Making Mentorship & Collaboration as well as Sip, Paint & Plant, Build a Bouquet and many game nights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the end, tough decisions had to be made but we narrowed it down to half a dozen bottles and several cans of their delicious carbonated meads to take home, oh, and of course one to enjoy in the garden tonight we were invited to help ourselves to. Oh, can’t forget the Garden Focaccia<\/a> and a couple jars of her delicious spice blends, Smoky the Berbere<\/a> for sure! Both John and Jenn are so warm and friendly, they live on the property so they even offer coffee in the morning, and text with any questions after hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evening brought out all her solar lights and adorable garden d\u00e9cor along with a couple very friendly cats, you feel at home. It’s extremely peaceful with only a bray from Jenny the donkey who resides with Ginger the horse. After feeding them approved snacks in the morning, we lounged in the garden, listening to birds and an occasional rooster in the background, sipping coffee and both agreed we need to return soon. We had a great time and really enjoyed the company and the mead!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
