Eberle Winery

on

We weren’t actually planning on attending the Eberle wine dinner, but since we were visiting Paso Robles that weekend we decided to go at the last minute. It was also the regional “Zin Fest” weekend, so there were plenty of reasons to be in Paso Robles – and at Eberle.

The winery itself is on the north side of Highway 46, just outside Paso Robles in California. The grounds are very nice, with a lovely view of the gently rolling hills and far enough from the highway that you don’t notice the traffic.

The wine dinner was preceded by a sampling of wines paired with some delicious hors d’ouevres like wild boar salami and smoked salmon. Downstairs in the cellar, chef Justin Monson had prepared an excellent 5 course dinner including scallops and pork tenderloin, which were paired very well with the wines.

We weren’t planning to join the wine club, but after dinner we decided to sign up and bought half a case of wine too. The Full Boar Red is one of my personal favorites, but all the wines are excellent.

Overall, Eberle is well worth a visit if you’re passing through Paso Robles.
