Villa San Juliette Vineyard and Winery

We found this gem of a winery on our way out of town on St. Patrick’s Day. It’s a bit off the beaten path in Paso Robles but was serving some St. Patty’s Day goodies for lunch so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed at all!

First, it has a wonderfully large parking area, easy to park and maneuver any sized RV. The place is absolutely gorgeous. We showed up right about noon on Sunday and were served immediately, even offered to take seats on the patio and they would come to us, which we chose to do after ordering our lunch.

Did I mention the views? I should have by now because they are amazing. This place sits on a hilltop with stunning views of the Paso valley and vineyards. Their patio and garden area, which is pet friendly, is perfectly situated to enjoy the views as you listen to music and sip very good wines. My husband had their reds mostly, and I chose to be responsible since I was driving and just do the Pinot Grigio, which was colored green for the holiday, and their Rose. I normally prefer the reds but these were excellent, the rose in particular.

I am not sure what their normal food menu is like but our lunch was excellent. My husband had an Irish stew with soda bread and I had corned beef sliders which was accompanied by a homemade potato salad that was very good. We indulged in a special dessert made with brownie, Jameson’s Irish whiskey green pudding of some sort, all served in a shot glass so couldn’t have been too many calories, right? 😉

The tasting room is decorated in photos of Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick with American Idol stars which was a bit confusing to me. Upon asking it was discovered that they are the owners of this winery with both having private suites on each end. There is also an Airbnb cottage for rent and it would be an absolute beautiful setting for a wedding or special event.

In all, the wines were very good, the food was great, the setting can’t be beat and the service was excellent. I can’t wait to go back and could easily spend an afternoon relaxing and sipping wine on that patio.
